1. 0 PERIOD (from Std. 1)

  • It is the 1st period of the day for 50 minutes, planned in such a way that each student is given the freedom to decide an activity with which they want ot begin their day with.
  • Every 0 period teacher designs a curriculum in order to attain a predetermined goal.
  • Students are motivated to come to school and make their own decision.

2. SCOPE FILE

  • The record of each child is maintained in one file which is passed to the next teacher in each academic year. The record includes - academic progress , health assessment, home visit record, behavioural pattern and other student related information
  • The scope file is handed over from one class teacher to the next class teacher at the end of the academic year. Students with concerns are discussed; a complete handing over of each student is done.
  • Teacher is well prepared to manage a new class.

3. HOME VISITS

  • A planned visit of every class teacher to a student's home to understand the behavioural pattern, likes and dislikes of the student. We believe that each teacher should know the pet name of the child.
  • Home Visits are compulsory from Pre-Primary to Std.2 Teachers draft a schedule and take appointments from parents well in advance before visiting.
  • Understand child psychology, understanding environment, stronger connections.

4. MOTHERS MEET

  • A planned meeting, which happens once a month wherein teachers discuss with parents - What is going to be taught & How is it to be taught.?
  • During each mothers meet, teachers share the methodology- How and What for the upcoming curriculum.
  • Awareness about the teaching-learning process amongst parents is created.

5. PHYSICAL EDUCATION

  • At GGIS there is special focus on sports education. As we believe that in Healthy body resided a Healthy Mind. Students are trained right from the beginning (pre- primary) to be physically active and fit.
  • FOR EVERY STUDENT - 3 SESSION PER WEEK are planned. Physical and Fitness Assessment is carried out twice a year and recorded in their scope file.

6. LIFE SKILLS AND SAMSKAARS

  • Age Appropriate Life Skills (skills needed to defeat challenges and overcome obstacles in life) Samskaars(basic principles of life) have been integrated in the lesson plan of each class till grade 10th.
  • Life Skills and Sanskaars are selected for each class and divided over one academic year. These values are taken from the Hindu Gurukul System. The selected values are integrated with all the subjects and also taken care of during the MGC lectures.
  • Self-Aware Learners

7. SESSION PLANNING

  • Teachers plan the session for the next academic year well in advance. Every week lesson planning is done and recorded in pedagogy sheets. The Vice Principal and Academic Heads ensure session compliance.
  • The planning is divided into - Annual, Monthly and Weekly. Teachers are expected to carry their planner file to class for every lecture. Compliance is filled at the end of the month. Detailed planning is done a month ahead. Every Friday teachers spend 60 minutes –discussing, writing and improvising on their pedagogy.
  • This activity helps teachers be well prepared for their classes.

8. TEACHER TRAINING

  • An Annual calendar for faculty training is drafted for every academic year. Each faculty member is expected to undergo at least 2 external trainings in a year for subject enrichment and skill enhancement.
  • Training needs are identified on the basis of feedback from parents, students and teachers. Teachers are encouraged to attend – Workshops, CBSE Trainings and Trainings by consultants.
  • Helps teachers bridge the skill gap and be abreast with new technology, methodology and innovative practises.

9. ACCREDITATIONS

  • Our school is one of the few to maintain and receive ISO standards and NABET.

10. THEME BASED CLASS PRESENTATIONS

  • Instead of 1 Annual Day, the school offers each child to be on the stage in front of their parents and exhibit their talent through theme based class presentations.

11. DIFFERENTIATED LEARNING

  • The school takes care of the learning needs of each child using different and innovative pedagogical practises.
